Rafael Afonso is a London-based artist from Brazil, with a knack for interpretation of colour that brings to life the vivacity of his South American roots. He sees his creations as a connection between his conscious self, his subconscious self, and his intuitive self.
With a degree in Visual Arts from Faculty of Arts Dulcina de Moraes, Afonso has built a career joining his talent for art with the desire to help others find light amid their own chaos. Alfonso himself has known darkness -- he describes art as “literally the expression I know to have. Drawing is a way to liberate, heal and express myself.” He began to “imprison [his] demons” in his art, and when people identified with his visual expressions, he witnessed a flourishing positive impact. Personalizing his pieces, he believes, is the best way to guide towards this positive impact and begin healing.
Afonso’s experience in his work with spiritual healing guarantees a gracious approach to produce art that symbolises each person’s individuality, but also symbolises what they need at that moment.
He has worked with the reading of astrological maps, crystals, numerology, mediumistic development, with a group in quantum cure and apometry. He has taken intensive courses in spiritual development, human development, and neuro-linguistic programming.
Afonso’s work represents his desire to improve the world, and his beginning to do so.
