Didier Pouzol, born in 1962 in the south of France, began an early career in cinema, becoming a chief stagehand and intermittent entertainer for more than 35 years. His life is permeated by the image in all its forms, nourished by a devouring passion for photography which took root during an initiatory trip to the United States in 1981 and has not left him since.
During his many years in the film industry, Didier has developed two distinct axes in his photographic work. On the one hand, he excels as a still photographer, capturing the behind-the-scenes and intimate moments of filming. On the other hand, he explores portraiture with a keen artistic sensitivity, taking advantage of the unique opportunities his profession offers him.
Alongside his cinematographic activities, each trip and each passion of Didier allows him to share his unique view of the world through his lens. Equipped with a camera grafted to his left hand - the left hand, because the right is reserved for his sculptor's tools - Didier transcends categories and conventions to capture precious moments and offer them to share, thus creating works that challenge expectations and capture the imagination.
