Pierre Sidoine is a contemporary Belgian sculptor. Sidoine is first and foremost a welder, mostly using arc welding to work with cold metal. He's been sculpting metal for forty years to create characters, animals, and masks. For him iron is revealed to be what it is: a forgeable metal with a gray-black finish that catches the light and displays the chosen design, such as horse heads or the helm of a helmet.
Sidoine gives the same level of attention to detail to all of the elements he chooses. He is not one of the artists who incorporates recycled objects while making it apparent that they are merely decorative elements with no inherent value.
Pierre Sidoine was born in 1948, in Belgium. He lives and works in France.
