Pierre Rouanne, a contemporary French artist, made his initial mark in the art world by exhibiting for the first time in the Toulouse region and Comminges before the age of 20. His early creations centered on ink, wash, and watercolor, showcasing a budding talent that set the stage for his artistic journey.
Despite a hiatus from galleries due to his engagement in publishing, Rouanne rekindled his relationship with the art world, this time exploring oils on canvas and resuming exhibitions in 2014.
Rouanne's artistic repertoire encompasses an eclectic array of subjects, ranging from landscapes and sports to still life and animals. While his style leans towards the resolutely classic, the unmistakable influences of Pop Art and Hyperrealism manifest through distinct features such as framing, the use of expansive flat areas, color decomposition, and the prominence of drawing. His approach treats the entire canvas as a multitude of abstract details converging to construct a realistic composition.
Motivated by the emotions evoked by shapes, compositions, and light, Rouanne allows these elements to guide his artistic process and dictate the technique employed. Whether using a knife, brush, paintbrush, or even a finger (but never an airbrush), the essence lies in prioritizing design. Design work holds paramount importance for Rouanne, and the widespread use of photography aids in working on compositions and analyzing colors. However, the canvas work transcends the confines of the photographs, offering a personalized and unique vision of each subject.

Le deuxième Salon d’Arts Plastiques de Calmont organisé par l’association «Perspectives Calmontaises» se déroulera sous la halle, du vendredi 1er au dimanche 3 mars 2019. Ce salon est ouvert à tous les artistes, peintres ou sculpteurs.
Les inscriptions seront enregistrées, entre le 2 janvier et le 10 février 2019, par courrier adressé à la mairie de Calmont, avenue de Mazères, comportant une fiche d’inscription préalablement remplie et un chèque du montant des droits d’accrochage à l’ordre de l’association organisatrice. Ils joindront la photo de trois œuvres au maximum (peintures ou sculptures) qui seront soumises à l’acceptation d’un jury.
