Pierce Casey

My paintings are a spontaneous and emotional response to my own identity. My Irish roots are placed firmly within the small coastal town of Dungarvan in which I grew up. I am inspired not only by the connection that I have with the landscape and the sea, but also with my personal sense of belonging.

Painting for me is a process of intense reflection. I have explored the dialogue between texture and colour as a means of communication. My work is influenced by contemporary Irish and Cornish artists. Intentionally I capture my memories and continue to record my personal journey within my paintings.

Sunday Times competition to design a tail fin for British Airways. The design was purchased by British Airways and used on eleven different types of aircraft. Also included was a trip to New York on Concorde.
