I'll never be able to "paint" you...you are so huge and have so many faces.
Although, I want to possess you on canvas, and want to share you with others.
I want an overview of your Beauty, and I will fly over Golden Gate as pelicans do.
Suspension cables will look like orange snakes linking Asia to America
There is a fault in your ground, a dormant snake in your guts.
So much culture in your streets, so much gold in your banks.
West Coast Constantinople, I will ornate your roofs with oriental carpets!
Bay bridge feeds you from the East, Transamerica takes off to the sky,
Columbus is now watching the blood of his blood on Telegraph Hill...
There is a monologue in my creation,and a dragon in San Francisco.
Born in Hyères, on the French Riviera, Philippe Metaireau studied architecture,perspective, drawing, and painting at the Ecole d'Art et d'Architecture de Marseille Luminy where he got his masters .
He started his career as an interior designer at Jansen, Paris, travelling extensively to the
Middle East : Prince Abdallah's Mosque in Taif, Saudi Arabia , Al Bustahn Palace Hotel in Mascat, Sultanate of Oman.
He then evolved into painting large scale murals and painting collections for hotels, interior designers and private clients. His work can be found in chateaux, churches, mosques, and public buildings in France, Switzerland, Canada, Bali, the Carribean and Oman.
He now lives in Opio, French Riviera, where is his Atelier.
His last exhibitions were : 2012 La Bouitte Relais et Chateaux ,Michelin ***.
