I was aware that I had love for painting when I was just a lass in grade school although I only used my hidden talent when I needed to pull a grade up. My teachers would let me do posters for the class or give me extra points for helping with the artwork for pep rallies. Once I convinced my middle school principle to let me paint the bleachers and trash cans around the ball field. He bought the marine green paint with a few cans of basic colors. When all was finished they looked pretty good for a middle school project ... mushrooms, flowers, hearts, peace signs ... symbols from the late 60's and early 70's.
As time went on I decided to take a beginner's oil painting class at a local community college. I fell in love with the challenge and could not get enough of the classes. I kept going back and the professor, Jim Stratton, became a friend of mine... now he is my mentor. The challenge is what keeps me going to this day.
