Юрий Николаевич Падалка родился 20 ноября 1953 года в хуторе Савоськин Зимовниковского района Ростовской области. Детские и юношеские годы провел в родном степном краю. С тех времен запали в память раздолье донских степей, шепот листьев, колыхание ковыля, табуны лошадей в степи.
Учился в Московском университете искусств на отделении станковой живописи и графики(1972-1978).
Картины рассказывают о красоте природы юга России, донской степи, жизни казаков – станичников. Особое место в творчестве занимает образ верного друга – коня. Гордое и сильное животное изображено в разных ситуациях – в свободном беге, мирно пасущимся в степи, под седоком – охотником. Для меня – лошадь – олицетворение и символ донского простора.
Являюсь членом Союза художников России, членом творческого объединения «Белая Вежа».
Залог творческого успеха в том, что «рисую не только то, что вижу, но и то, что чувствую».
