Marcelle VALLON Basilides was born in the french part of Switzerland. In 1957 she graduated from the Swiss Academy of Ceramics as painter and ceramist. Having brought up three children, she attended painting courses, mosly of Pierre Beck, the famous Swiss watercolorist. She made several study trips to other countries and discovered new lights and new landscapes that inspired new pictures. From 1999 she has lived near the Balaton, Hungary, with her painter husband, Bálint Géza Basilides. She is member of the International Free Art Colony of Cseszegtomaj and the Mednyánszky Compagny. She also instructs watercolour painting.
