While Michel Leclercq’s women bodies are drawn with photographic precision, they are represented in a thoroughly subtle & pictoral manner: exposed erotically in mixtures of shade & light, thus full of mystery and consent, wrapped in yellow and blue leaves, both caresses and protection… Paint for him awakens senses of sight and sensuality, reveals and takes away, covers and undresses, liquefies shade spots as if marine bottoms on top of which body parts undulates between sand banks, as if desperate. W.T
I draw sunshades on bodies, with the skin texture reflecting the colors of nature… Bodies are hidden by leaves or by shades, making them appear mysterious and in symbiosis with nature. I work primarily with dry pastel on large format craft paper.
