Il est parfois appelé "singe hibou" ou "singe de nuit". Il occupe les forêts tropicales d'Amérique du Sud, et a pour particularité de vivre exclusivement la nuit. Ce singe appartient aux primates dits "minuscules", de par une taille variant de 25 à 35 centimètres environ à l'âge adulte, et un poids oscillant entre 600 grammes et 1 kilogramme. Son ventre est d'ordinaire gris ou marron clair/orangé, sa face généralement blanche, marquée par de grands yeux (non sans rappeler le hibou). Possédant une queue très longue, parfois de taille égale voir supérieure au corps entier, cet aotus est notamment capable de conserver un équilibre exceptionnel lorsqu'il saute d'arbre en arbre pour cueillir des fruits ou chasser de petits oiseaux. Sa réputation d'animal discret n'est pas usurpée, puisqu'il chasse et se déplace généralement sans le moindre bruit, amortissant ses chutes, déambulant très rapidement, grâce à sa légèreté et une grande souplesse. Le douroucouli s'aide également de sa nyctalopie: ses grands yeux sont pourvus d'une plus grande quantité de bâtonnets que l'œil humain normal, mais le nombre de cônes se trouve réduit. Ainsi, il s'oriente parfaitement bien et distingue totalement son environnement par une luminosité extrêmement faible; en revanche, sa perception des couleurs pourrait, d'après certaines études, se trouver faussée. Par ailleurs, une de ses particularités pour le moins surprenante est le fait qu'il peut reproduire, par le seul biais de son gosier, de très nombreux sons, allant des cris de fauves à des sonorités rappelant une cloche ou un gong. Sur un plan social, le singe hibou se regroupe en petites communautés (chacune occupant souvent un même tronc creux lors du sommeil diurne) de quelques dizaines d'individus tout au plus.

Technic Drawing

Drawing is a technique of visual representation on a flat support. The term "drawing" designates both the action of drawing, the resulting graphic work, and the shape of any object. It is also a representation on a surface of the shape (and possibly the light and shadow values) of an object or figure, rather than their color. There are a large number of drawing techniques: “Linear drawing” represents objects by their outlines, edges and some characteristic lines; beyond this limit, the drawing develops by representing the volume by shadows, often by means of hatching, incorporates colors, and joins, without clear transition, the painting.

Michel Guillet, versatile artist, has been a figurative pastellist since January 2010. He is an active member of the “Pastel en Dauphiné” association. His artistic passion leads him to explore a multitude of varied motifs without being confined to a specific theme. Whether portraits, landscapes, still lifes or reproductions of works of art, Michel Guillet likes to capture the diversity of the world around him through his pastels.

What particularly sets Michel apart is his commitment to sharing his art with the public. During exhibitions, he engages in live demonstrations, offering visitors an insight into his creative process. He enjoys interacting with “admirers” of his work, informing them about his techniques and sometimes inviting them to actively participate in his demonstrations.

Michel Guillet is self-taught, but he prefers to consider that each of us has artistic talents that are just waiting to be revealed. He believes in everyone's ability to explore their creativity and let their talents flourish with a little practice and support.

Since his retirement in Aix-les-Bains at the beginning of 2012, Michel Guillet has enjoyed the time necessary to discover the splendors of the Alps and devote himself fully to his two passions: pastels and photography, where he excels as a 'amateur. His art reflects his love for the diversity of the world and his desire to share his creativity with the public.
