La famille de Marie Curie.
Une famille impressionnante à plus d'un titre :
Marie Curie, brillante scientifique, arrivée en France à 24 ans pour pouvoir étudier, les femmes en Pologne n'en ayant pas encore le droit, à l'époque. Sa réussite (et quelle réussite!) en France est un véritable symbole d'intégration, mondialement indiscutable.
Marie Curie, LA première femme nobelisée, un véritable symbole pour le féminisme (NB : le prix nobel a été décerné 47 femmes à ce jour).
Marie Curie nobelisée deux fois (!), un véritable symbole pour tout scientifique (NB : 6 fois le prix nobel a été remis à la même personne ou entité à ce jour)
Marie Curie et son dévouement lors de la première guerre mondiale avec la mise en place des premières radiographies médicales sur le champ de bataille), symbole de dévouement et d'humanisme.
Pierre Curie (son mari à partir de 1895), Prix nobel avec Marie ainsi que Henri Becquerel en 1903 (NB : 5 couples ont été nobelisés à ce jour)
Pierre Curie, découvreur également de l'effet piézoélectrique, de la loi de Curie dans le domaine du magnétisme... Pierre Curie est décédé à 47 ans écrasé par un fiacre en 1906. Un scientifique impressionnant malheureusement disparu trop tôt.
Irène (sa fille aînée) et Frédéric Joliot-Curie (son gendre) prix nobel également pour leurs recherches sur le nucléaire. Leur engagement politique nuira à leur carrière. (NB : Les Curie sont la seule famille ayant été autant nobelisée, seule la Croix rouge a été récompensée autant)
J'ai choisi de les representer dans le « style réalisme symbolique » ; les voici dans le bureau de Marie qui est au sein de ce qui est aujourd'hui le musée Curie. Ils sont tous ensemble malgré l'impossibilité qu'ils aient vécu un tel moment, et sont entourés d'attributs biographiques symbolisant leur travail et leur reconnaissance mondiale ou encore leur engagement humanitaire.

Les membres de cette famille ont su dépasser les difficultés rencontrées sur leurs chemins de vie. Leurs découvertes impactent nos vies aujourd'hui encore. Cette famille reste et restera encore longtemps un symbole dans de nombreux domaines ; Certains symboles ont un poids particulier à notre époque où les avancées vers l'égalité homme-femme et l'intégration des personnes sont encore -si ce n'est toujours plus- mis à mal. Une famille symbolique qui fait du bien.

Magali Gauthier is a painter living in the east of France.
After 8 years of scientific studies, she turns completely to the arts in 2008.
Her favorite techniques are oil or acrylic painting, watercolor and drawing.
Mainly figurative, her work oscillates between the realism, the impressionism and the surrealism. She proceed as well through landscapes, daily scenes, portraits.

Her work speaks about human beings, interactions between the Man kind and the Nature. It tends to suggest the sharing of Earth, toward the future of humanity in search of harmony.

Since 2009 year in the course of which she worked on her vision of the French Riviera, she developed several themes in parallel.
In 2014, she particularly developed the theme "face à face" (between interview & confrontation) which sinks into the look of animals.
And this year, she works more particularly on trees.
