Bernard Maignan is a contemporary French painter. In his view, art is a mirror that reflects the state of our minds and our place within the intricate web of existence. He poses a stark and introspective question: Are we, as humans, truly essential to the Earth's grand tapestry? Maignan's contemplative perspective suggests that our self-sufficiency may ultimately lead to our own undoing. He believes that the final day of reckoning looms ever closer, and that nature, indifferent to our presence, will eventually shed us without remorse. It is, he asserts, our own species that bears witness to this sobering narrative of failure.
Bernard Maignan's artistic journey has been marked by a dedication to his craft. He began his professional pursuit of art by studying advertising graphics at the Brassard School, followed by a stint at the Fine Arts in Tours (37). His remarkable talent was evident early in his life, as he held his first solo exhibition in a gallery at the tender age of 16 in Nantes.
In 1980, Maignan took a step into the world of advertising by establishing his own advertising agency. However, his passion for art never waned. He shared his knowledge and artistic insights as an art teacher in Nantes for five years, imparting his wisdom to aspiring artists.
Subsequently, Maignan embarked on a multifaceted journey, which included the creation of gallery workshops in Vence (06) for 15 years and later in Clisson (44). These creative spaces served as hubs for his artistic expression and engagement with the wider artistic community.
Bernard Maignan's artistic accomplishments have been celebrated with numerous exhibitions in galleries and art fairs throughout France. His work has earned him numerous awards, highlighting the recognition of his artistic prowess within the art world. His impact extends well beyond France, as his art has found a global audience, with his work being exhibited and appreciated in more than 17 countries.
