All forms of artistic expression are acceptable to Armen Ghazayran, in order to express his feelings and impressions...

What made you approach art and become an artist (events, feelings, experiences...)?

I have a more correct demand to express myself through art than I paint by inspiration. Events and feelings also play a role, but such phenomena can also have the opposite effect for me. I may not even paint for a while.

What is your artistic journey, techniques and themes that you have experimented so far?

All forms of artistic expression are acceptable to me. From realism to abstractionism. To express my feelings and impressions, it can be a landscape, a portrait, any fiction, or an abstract image. However, lately I like to create expressionism and abstract paintings. Now that is the most close and interesting to me.

What are the 3 aspects that differentiate you from other artists and make your work unique?

I myself cannot say what is interesting about my works, but the followers say that they are attracted by the immediacy, the warmth of the colors, the unexpected construction of the paintings.

Where does your inspiration come from?

I can get inspiration from many different phenomena. Music, sounds of nature, any random color part, any person's face. But I can be influenced and inspired by a color range of light and shadow.

What is the intention of your art? What visions, sensations or feelings do you want to evoke in the viewer?

Actually, I don't paint to influence anyone. As I have already said, I have a request to draw. Of course, positive reactions from different countries and nations of the world give me great joy and encouragement.

What is the process of creation of your work? Spontaneous or with a long process of preparation (technique, inspiration in art classics or others)? If so, can you explain it?

The process of creating a painting proceeds in different ways. Some canvases go through the preparatory stage of sketches, plastering, searching for colors and others. But mostly I start painting without any preparatory part, because my works are mainly not large-sized and in fact they are a preparatory stage for me to create large-sized canvases. I hope that time will come.

Are there any innovative aspects in your work, and can you tell us which ones?

Like any art representative, I also want to invent a special color image style, news. I strive to achieve it. To some extent, it works, but I still haven't managed to achieve the most desired result. And for now, I attach importance to doing what I feel and think in the best way.

Do you have any format or medium with which you feel more comfortable?

My paintings of the previous period were larger, one meter+, but now in my studio conditions it is more suitable for paintings up to eighty centimeters in size. But those small and medium-sized canvases allow you to quickly finish and realize new ideas.

Where do you produce your work? At home, in a shared or private studio? And within this space, how is your production organized?

I am currently working in the apartment where I live. In a corner of the living room and on the balcony, there is a section where I can create. Of course, it cannot replace a studio, but on the other hand, it is also useful because I use my time rationally. I have a main job that supports me, but it takes a lot of time. That's why I like to work at home to create paintings.

Does your work lead you to travel to meet new collectors, to do shows or exhibitions? If so, what do you gain from it?

Creative life is very interesting. It's a way to get to know many different people, I get invitations and recommendations. Of course, I would like to take advantage of the opportunity that my works give me. To tell the truth, I don't take advantage of that opportunity. The main venue for the exhibition is online, mostly at Artmajeur.

How do you imagine the evolution of your work and your figure as an artist in the future?

I hope that in the near future I will be able to devote more time to creating, and move on to bigger paintings. And if successful, participate in exhibitions and competitions.

What is the theme, style or technique of your latest artistic production?

My latest works are expressionist, abstract landscape and other composition.

Can you tell us about your most important exhibition experience?

I don't have much experience in the exhibition. Unfortunately, when one of my friends was preparing a big exhibition of my paintings in several halls, it coincided with the pandemic. Unfortunately, I do not find time to organize an exhibition of my works.

If you could create a famous work in the history of art, which one would you choose, and why would you choose it?

If I were to create a recognized work of art, it might be the collective result of my best works. A general expression of my recent works. It can be an incredible success.

If you could invite a famous artist (living or dead) to dinner, who would it be? How would you propose to spend the evening?

It is difficult to choose one of the great artists Paul Cézanne, Peter Paul Bruegel, Bosch, Picasso, Kandinsky and others. But in my opinion, there is one powerful creator who stands out. I can think it's Leonardo da Vinci. It would be a wonderful dinner if I had Leonardo da Vinci as a guest. I have studied his past path and life more and I admire all that he has done. Da Vinci's works, way of thinking and philosophical thoughts are very familiar and acceptable to me. And I think if he would honor me and have dinner with me, we could talk about many things while enjoying good wine and food. At that time, I would ask him many questions, the answers to which I still do not have yet.
