In 2011, without notice or explanation, Facebook deactivated the account of one of its subscribers, accusing him of having posted Gustave Courbet's table The Origin of the World on his page. Facebook's lawyer explains that in the general conditions of use, in the event of a dispute, only a court in the state of California is competent and can in no way fall under French law.

Excluding yesterday, March 5, 2015, the court ruled "abusive" the exclusive jurisdiction clause signed by all Facebook users and designating a California court as being the only one empowered to settle disputes.

Finally, a hearing will take place in France.
