Inspired by New Jersey Governor Christie's statement that he would never legalize marijuana because it is "blood money", which is technically defined as (1) a fee paid to a hired murderer, (2) compensation paid to the next of kin of a slain person, (3) money obtained ruthlessly and at a cost of suffering to others and (4) money paid[...]
Inspired by New Jersey Governor Christie's statement that he would never legalize marijuana because it is "blood money", which is technically defined as (1) a fee paid to a hired murderer, (2) compensation paid to the next of kin of a slain person, (3) money obtained ruthlessly and at a cost of suffering to others and (4) money paid to an informer in order to cause somebody to be arrested, convicted, or especially executed. "BLOOD MONEY"could also be a reference to someone selling their hemoglobin to pay for an addiction, such as gambling (i.e. the Triple Bar symbol on a slot machine) which has been the lifeblood feeding Atlantic City's economy for years. Last, the "YABBA DABBA" reference in the painting refers to the Governor's uncanny resemblance to Fred Flinstone.

ljm has applied abstract patterns and design to the color spectrum for 35 years. The paintings are sculptured in canvas, underpinned by a weave pattern and accented with shapes either pasted on top or cut into the surface, resulting in random distortions and imperfections. The geometric color patterns are designed to evoke a calming cerebral sensation, allow one's brain to directly connect with and wander around inside the resulting image.

ljm can best be described as an analytical artist who tries to create a feeling of harmony and zen perfection for the viewer with his eclectic eye candy.
