Né en 1968, diplômé de l'Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Lyon et de la Faculté d'Histoire de l'Art et d'Archéologie de l'Université Lumière Lyon II, David Lefebvre se consacre depuis une trentaine d'année à la peinture, pratique artistique enrichie par de nombreux voyages à travers plus de 70 pays. Il privilégie la peinture à l'huile, technique permettant d'infinies nuances et une richesse exceptionnelle des couleurs.

L'intérêt de l'artiste pour des constructions réelles ou imaginaires évoquant d'anciennes civilisations, situe sa peinture aux confins de l'archéologie et de l'architecture. Ses tableaux constituent un amalgame de résurgences antiques revues et corrigées selon des projections futuristes. D'improbables tours de Babel deviennent de grands temples œcuméniques comme une synthèse architecturale universelle et par delà une représentation de l'humanité à la fois singulière et plurielle. Labyrinthes et Figures Impossibles, qui truffent ses compositions, sont les symboles de la complexité de l'Histoire et de l'apparente absurdité de la vie, principaux thèmes de son territoire pictural.

David Lefebvre a exposé dans plusieurs galeries en France  ainsi qu'à l'étranger (Allemagne, Chine, USA...). Ses œuvres sont présentes dans de nombreuses collections privées mais également publiques (Ville de Lyon, Ville de Ditzingen (Allemagne), Fondation Renaud (Lyon), …).
