About the author
From early childhood growing up in New York City, Ralph Papa had a fascination and natural talent for drawing and painting. In the 1960's he studied art and architecture in NYC at CCNY and Queens College and painted unde at the Art Students League. Papa worked in Manhattan and exhibited and sold his paintings in Greenwich Village. His early works were larger than life faces fostering a pensive mood with feelings of isolation and loneliness. In the past 20 years, Papa has lightened up as seen in his studio paintings while in Iran in 1978. Again later in the 1990’s he shifted to painting landscapes on-location in the Hudson Valley, the Hamptons on Long Island and Palm Beach Florida. Spanning over 40 years, Papa's paintings present an evolved style that is serene yet powerful that reflects his admiration and respect for nature and individuality. Papa is a member of the Garrison Art Cener and the Professional Art Guild at the Boca Raton Museum of Art. He resides and paints in New York and Southeast Florida and teaches drawing and painting at the Cultural Arts Center in Delray Beach.
