LUIGI RIFANI è nato a Leros (Grecia), da genitori italiani, il 22 maggio 1940. Vive e lavora a Venezia (ex Convento S.S. Cosma e Damiano - sec. xv) - nell’isola della Giudecca. .
Autodidatta, espone in pubblico per la prima volta alla “57° Collettiva” nella Galleria Comunale Bevilacqua La Masa di Venezia. In quella occasione vince il Premio per illustrare la copertina del catalogo. In seguito espone in Italia e all’estero, in numerose mostre: personali, di gruppo e collettive. La stampa, la Radio, la televisione e vari critici si sono interessati al suo lavoro di ricerca artistica, comprendente: pittura, fotografia, collages, grafica, T-shirts e scultura in vetro e metallo.
Sue opere figurano in collezioni pubbliche e private in vari Paesi del mondo.
L’artista abbandona volontariamente l’attività espositiva agli inizi degli anni ’80, per intraprendere numerosi e prolungati viaggi nei Paesi del sud-est asiatico e nell’estremo oriente, dedicandosi prevalentemente alla preparazione di album, contenenti. disegni, foto, brevi scritti e poesie.
Nel 2000 accetta l’invito di Antonio Maria Quadrio, della Galleria Percorsi d’Arte 90 e si ripropone al pubblico, con una mostra di successo. Ultima esposizione personale, nel Gennaio 2008, nello spazio espositivo AURA ART GALLERY a Venezia.
