About the author
A few years ago, my daughter asked for a "real mosaic butterfly kit" for her birthday. Not with stickers, with real glue and glass tiles. I helped her finish the butterfly, and that was the spark that got me started. I've always loved colored glass and illustrations, so why I didn't link the two together earlier is a mystery to me.
As far as themes go, I am very fond of mythology, the supernatural, and nature. Images that tell a tale and are a little edgy are more interesting to me than just pretty. Color contrast is also important, and those fragments of glass can be so gorgeous and vibrant! They bring energy.
This journey has been a hug learning process. Each piece of art has brought new challenges, and I love trying new things. To grout or not to grout (my artworks are not meant for outside), tin foil on the backboard, double layers... The best part of these artworks is that they come change in different lighting. So they are never boring, and each time you look at them, there is something new to study. Art that lives.
...and my drawer is always filled with Band-Aids.
