Né en 1954 à Rabat (Maroc). Depuis sa tendre enfance, Mohamed Rachid Iraqui a fait de la peinture. À l'âge de 9 ans, il a eu un prix de dessin à l'école des Orangers de Rabat. Diplômé de la Faculté de Médecine et de Pharmacie de Rabat, il participe à la vie artistique marocaine depuis 1972.
L’œuvre de Mohammed Rachid Iraqi est une métaphore symbolique et syncrétique du monde qui entoure le peintre, de son histoire et de son pays.
Dans un mélange de synesthésies, on retrouve souvent la sècheresse du jaune safran se fertiliser par le bleu de fez et la gourmandise du rouge cinabre pourchasser la torpeur du noir Soudan.
Influencé à la fois par la couleur de Matisse, marqué par le Symbolisme,et l'orientalisme de Mantel dont il fut le disciple ,il est en quête d’un univers intime qu’il cherche à partager .
Depuis 2000, il s'oriente vers l'abstrait lyrique puis géométrique ou s'enchevêtrent des scènes tantôt figuratives tantôt surréalistes souvent engagées mais toujours en rapport avec des triangles et des cercles . L'imagination se trouve rarement limitée par les formes géométriques et l'engagement de l'artiste y est toujours exprimé .
Mohamed Rachid Iraqui Vit et travaille à Fès. Il a a reçu de nombreux prix et distinctions. Signalons en particulier « Prix de Platine » organisé par Artmajeur en 2014 « Prix Hassan II des manuscrits » en 2005, 2006,2007,2008,2009,2010,2011 un autre en 2012.

Iraqi mohammed rachid is a self-taught Moroccan painter, born in Rabat in 1954. From the age of 9 he started obtaining prizes for his drawings. He is the disciple of the great orientalist jean Gaston Mantel.
From 1970 to 2000, he reworked figurative paintings about the history of Morocco and the scenes of life.
Since 2000, he has moved towards a more lyrical then a geometric abstract. Since 2011, he created his own style combining lyrical, symbolical and geometrical abstraction
