This series was born after Lana's first trip to the mountains of Svaneti (Georgia) in 2019. She realized how big and different world. It's a different feeling of being in this world. And that was really another morning on this planet. She came home a different person and immediately started drawing this series. But this is impossible to convey and the mountains are always remembered blurred and abstract.

Lana is a modern observer of the people and passing moments around, which she documents in her sketch books.
This series profiles both ordinary and extraordinary people, but never “normal” or “perfect” people that we are so constantly privy to via social media. We are surrounded by unnatural poses and shots that make a beautiful picture on social networks, but do not say anything about the person and don’t cause a genuine smile. Conversation, movement, expression and personality are the things that bring the picture to life. Her work is honest and relatable. A common theme she try to achieve with drawings is that of be yourself. Looseness and immediateness; energy or mood of a person is an ongoing interest.

February 2020 began for Lana as a wave of inspiration and experiments. This is one of her favorite episodes that started during the quarantine. She was inspired by the discovery of Gerhard Richard's creativity and tried large strokes on the canvas with a large scraper. This experience helps her to create her paintings from the Mountains and Sea series.

Biography
Lana Krainova is a contemporary artist based in Batumi, Georgia (currently in Russia). Was born in 1991. In 2019 before the quarantine, she left her job in the office and life in the metropolis and moved to live in nature between the mountains and the sea to sunny Batumi.
There is a magnificent view of the mountains on one side and the sea on the other from the window of her studio. Two the great forces of nature meet here, on the shore of the Black Sea. Mountains and the sea are one of Lana's favorite subjects for painting on canvas.
Lana also draws portraits, interiors and everyday life objects with pastels. The sketchiness and unevenness of her line is paired with a colour which often helps to reinforce a mood or bring to life the personality of her subjects. She's not afraid of the curvature and irregularity of objects. Rather, it's great. So as not to take life too seriously.
