These paintings are meant to capture the emotions of that single moment. This painting is named Welcome Home. Each of these are amazing and it is an extremly emotional series of 3.
The story behind this painting is as follows:
This was Iraq homecoming 2007. Jennifer and Dennis had only been married for 5 months before he deployed and hadn't even had the chance to live together yet! It was a very long, and stressful deployment for both of them. It was their very first deployment together so they had no idea what was in store for them on homecoming day. They were both very nervous to see each other that day . Dennis stepped off the bus, and Jennifer locked eyes with him; it was pure excitment and all nervousness was lost. He was finally home. This picture captures that moment so well. It manages to catch them hugging, and smiling as they lean in for another kiss. Photography Credit goes to Kathleen Amelia at
