A New School year has begun and a young Black teacher welcomes her new 1st Graders. As they walk into her classroom, the teacher and youngsters gaze at each other and there are a bevy of thoughts...
The little girl in yellow is inspired and thinks; I want to be a teacher just like her when I grow up!
The little girl in orange is apprehensive and thinks; Gee...I hope she likes me.
The little guy with the glasses thinks; I remember that mommy told me to smile and be respectful
The sheepish looking youngster next to him thinks; Gosh! She's beautiful!
And the little girl with the barrettes towards the back thinks; she seems nice...I think I like her!

I am a 79 year old mother of 4, grandmother of 11, great-grandmother of 12+.
After being homeless 2009 to 2010, I returned to painting which was something I hadn't done since childhood.
Being unable to afford professional training, I am self-taught, yet I am sure all will agree that 'Life', in and of itself...is a great teacher.
Though I concur that I still have a ways-to go, in the 6 years that I have been a member of Artmajeur I have learned a great deal.
It has been said that I have a 'good-eye' a compliment which I hold quite dear. And, If you browse my Gallery from my earlier creations to the present, I am sure you will agree there is, undeniably...artistic growth.
I am a Christian and greatly inspired by an awareness of the presence of God in my life. Thus, all of my work, in one way or another...is inspirational.
