Ile de Re is a popular tourist destination connected by a 2 mile bridge to the mainland Atlantic coast (Bay of Biscay) resort city of La Rochelle,France where I've owned an atelier/studio for more than 4 years.

The island of Ile de Re has very strict building codes..thus..you will not see lots of bizarre architecture.

Part of the film 'The Longest Day' was filmed here. During the summer tourist season you will see many European movie stars and politicians here. In addition..the island has some of the finest fresh seafood restaurants in the region..and I originally made several sketches on site..then finished the painting with a combination of India Ink, (encre de chine) watercolor,acrylics and gouache for highlights. This painting is 100% ORIGINAL>>>it is NOT a giclee,print,copy or enhancement.
