João Amoêdo Pinto was born in Lisbon, in 1967, and lived most of his life in this city. He grew up in a family of architects, art collectors and artists, which allowed him to come into contact with the art world at a very young age.

Having lived outside Portugal and, as a surfer, having traveled the world, allowed João Amoêdo Pinto to better understand human beings and social and cultural differences.

He developed his artistic expression between 1989 and 1994, when design and advertising (his profession) challenged him to develop his creativity in a different way. In 2016, profound changes in his life, along with a search for emotional and spiritual growth, brought him back to artistic expression.
