I have just been back from Portugal where I was absolutely mesmerized by a gigantic open grill barbecue on which hundreds of sardines, tightly and neatly arranged, were being cooked. It was a striking sight, where the cold and glistening tones of the fish mingled with the glowing red ambers and the dark hues of the black charcoal. As a matter of fact, I made several paintings of it.

I want to experience once again the pleasure derived from theses shapes : the elongated side by side shapes of the fish, all identical yet, different.
An apt choice of seasoning, shallots are the ideal condiments : your eyes see a colour, yet your brain perceives a taste, a flavour.
When I painted these shallot bulbs, I indulged in a real treat. Abstaining from making any preliminary sketch, I just revelled in the use of my pastels.
Having such a painting hung on your kitchen wall or in the corridor leading to your kitchen is a unique way to wet your appetite. So it is now your turn to indulge.

I am quite aware that, for many of you, this purchase can both represent an impulse buy , a « pleasure purchase » but also a long-term investment.

Nathalie JAGUIN began a professional career as a portrait painter on the spot and on commission in 2003. After about ten years of this activity and 6000 portraits sold, she decided to leave academic drawing by abolishing the contours.

She invented her technique "Millefiori" which she describes in her book "oil painting, painting without sketches" released in 2019 which is sold in France, as well as in bookstores, New York (Librairie Albertine), Canadian (Librairie Archambault) and all over the world. These paintings are composed like a symphony, each touch of color is a note that must agree with the others to compose a harmony, it sometimes gives birth to a landscape, a portrait, or a still life, paintings full of colors and good humor.

She uses the impasto technique to paint subjects free of any outline.

Every millimeter of her work is colored and worked to make it an object, both precious and complex. She draws inspiration from landscapes sometimes painted outdoors, still lifes and scenes of life, to extract their richness, power and beauty.

Active on social networks, her Youtube channel now has a million views.

She has been recognized and rewarded several times in national and international competitions and obtained the silver medal Arts sciences and Letters in 2024.

She is supported in her work by the trust of her clients, her works can now be found among collectors in Germany, Russia, Taiwan as well as French collectors. Her painting "Pink Light 7" has joined the permanent collection of Dimitris Copelouzos in Athens, Greece
It is now in his collection with 140 renowned French artists.
Mr. Copelouzos holds works by artists such as Warhol, Botero, Dubuffet, Kounellis, Wesselmann, Boetti, Gilbert & George, Indiana, Kippenberger, Hirst, Zhang Xiaogang, Kusama...

Two of his works “Remue méninges” have joined the permanent collection of the MOBA museum, Boston, Massachusetts, United States. In September 2024, one of them will go to the new MOBA in Quebec.
