River Styx
She was a titaness and the daughter of Thetys and Oceanus. During a war between Zeus and the Titans, the Titanomachy, she decided to side with the gods and help Zeus.
To thank her, the king of gods gave her name to the river of sacred oaths located in the underworld. Breaking, these oaths often resulted in death.
She also had the power to make people invulnerable. In the mythology, Achilles was dipped by his mother in the river Styx, making him invulnerable everywhere except on his ankle by which he was held.
Many years later, during the Trojan War, Achilles would die of an arrow piercing his heel.
