Ink

Watercolor

Watercolor is a painting in which gum arabic binds transparent pigments revealing the support of the painting. The gouache, of identical composition, is opaque. Hélène Mongin experiments and practices different artistic mediums, including drawing and ink for her recent "imperceptible landscapes", monotype and engraving, as well as digital photography which she mixes with inks and various natural and chemical products since 2006. .

His artistic work questions the space and time of the image, as well as that of the subject, with a recurring mise en abyme. She is inspired by her living environment and atmospheric phenomena such as twilight lights, clouds, storms, etc. She approaches the landscape as well as the portrait as motifs, in painting as in photography.

Hélène Mongin uses multiple simultaneous points of view to give a representation on several different scales at the same time. His artistic approach is marked by a constant research on the perception of the image and its relation to space-time.
