Helen Janow is a next generation California artist who brings a fresh and unique voice to abstract expressionism. Helen's works capture her unique ability to combine her artistic spirit with flexible water-based acrylic medium. Janow's finished works reveal both rational ideas and spontaneous bursts of imagery, which are easily seen in a free-flowing rain of colors. The subtle shapes, vibrant palette and natural freshness of Helen's works attract eyes and minds. The spontaneous flow of colors and shapes provoke an emotional response seldom experienced in contemporary art. A closer look reveals the passionate intensity of her artistic power.
Helen has exhibited at numerous California Galleries including University Gallery, Pacific Art League of Palo Alto and La Galerie Internationale. Her works can also be found in more than thirty private and corporate collections around the country and abroad.
Born in Russia, Helen successfully completed Moscow's School of Art in 1986 and graduated with honors from Foothill College, Los Altos Hills, California in 1994. She is presently living in northern California where she continues to explore and develop her artistic vision.
