Hansjörg Stübler, born in 1960 in Germany, is a versatile artist whose work is distinguished by a fascinating alchemy between reclaimed materials and elegant sculptures. Currently residing in Moorea, he transforms raw materials from recycling into works of art imbued with luxury and serenity.

Before devoting himself fully to art, Hansjörg Stübler had a career in pharmacy, a career which seems far from sculpture, but which reveals a deep passion for the animation of materials. This creative desire first manifested itself through the renovation of old houses in Europe, before he turned to the recovery of wood and other materials to design furniture and frames for the paintings of his partner, Nataly Jolibois .

In Moorea, surrounded by the calming beauty of the ocean and lagoons, Stübler draws inspiration from the surrounding nature. His sculptures are hymns to this nature, made from materials such as wood chips, fish bones, teeth, vertebrae, stones and fibers. He uses various types of wood, ranging from mahogany to pistachio wood, including teak and coconut, creating pieces that combine refinement and tranquility.

Each work by Hansjörg Stübler is a celebration of rediscovered wood, each vein, crack and knot is magnified to reveal its purest essence. His sculptures, often of birds, fish and shells, are skillfully articulated and placed on elegant supports, offering an impression of luxury and calm. Contrary to what one might expect, his pieces are not varnished, in order to preserve the liveliness of the materials and allow each creation to tell a new story.

Thus, Hansjörg Stübler is a true alchemist of recovered materials, transforming what could be considered everyday objects into unique works of art, imbued with poetry and respect for nature.
