Virginie Damotte is a French multidisciplinary artist. Her multiple talents allow her to work in the field of fashion design, interior design as well as painting, sculpture and photography.
In 2012, her recognized expertise in sculpture led her to work for Cartier (Haute Horlogerie), for whom she created prototypes in micro-sculpture and lost wax engraving, fine stones and precious metals. The acquisition of these numerous complementary skills through her various experiences naturally encouraged her to emancipate herself and develop her creativity in the two joint disciplines of sculpture and ceramics. The artist draws her ideas from the most renowned ancient ceramic techniques. In particular, the art of the RAKU or of smoking, in the Asian traditions or in the raw, instinctive breath of the primitive arts. Damotte unifies the elements: Earth, Fire, Water and Air in a very personal and truly singular approach.
