Vincent Gibert

Born in 1970, Vincent Gibert is a French artist, living and working in France. He is distinguished by an artistic practice that mixes marker on paper and oil painting, in a style of geometric and abstract abstraction.

Vincent Gibert's approach is deeply rooted in the exploration of the mysteries of the Universe. Fascinated by multiple cosmological theories, he seeks to represent both "cosmic" wanderings and speculations about the end of the Universe, going back in time to evoke the birth of this infinity and, by extension, that of humanity.

Without being attached to preparatory sketches, he leaves a lot of room for chance, guided by his imagination and by the colorful rhythms that he imposes on himself. Each work is born from an aspect of the Universe that he wishes to represent, evolving in a balance between chaos and harmony, dynamism and calm. He aspires to create homogeneous and coherent works, which invite the viewer to reflect on existence.

His latest creations, made mainly with alcohol markers and sometimes with oil pastels, explore the theme of the Universe, guided by a symbolic character he named Gaia Eve. Through this character, Vincent Gibert embodies human life and the very essence of existence, offering a walk through cosmic mysteries.
