Filip SCHROOYEN
Visual Artist
Schrooyen paints, viewing from a distance, from a refuge, like Faust and without remorse. He reaches anew for the Immortality of Man. He views a world becoming replete, dissolved in hopeless forms of unmined Landscapes of Life.

Artist's Statement
INVENTIO ELABORATIO EXECUTIO
While maintaining a philosophical stance, I analyze the subject matter and develop the essential dominant concept. I use a heuristic process, probing, questioning and eliminating the redundant elements. Further research and study enable me to sketch the subject. Subjects and techniques may differ but these do determine the intended result.
I am inspired by the German romantic philosopher Friedrich von Schelling (1775-1854) where he states: There is properly speaking but one absolute work of art, which may indeed exist in altogether different versions, yet it is still only one, even thought it should not yet exist in its most ultimate form.
I consider that it is requisite for a visual artist to use irony and self-reflection. Although social conditioning is unavoidable, all influences are not per se problematic in reaching the intended expression.
Ultimately, the venue, the display and the spacing of the art are extremely important, as these factors may influence the viewer's interpretation.
"an Artwork reveals as many Forms as there are Viewers to interpret it."
