A pure white color, non-yellowing to light, this paper is especially designed for resistance and aging. The Godfather painting featuring Marlon Brando, a famous actor from the past century is an oil painting stretched on canvas. The artist is a huge Godfather movie fan. It was one of the first movies that arrived in the cinemas when Kruno was young. The Godfather movie Trilogy is a classic and I believe everyone knows about it. In case you haven`t seen it yet, the plot follows the life of a mafia family originated from Italy. The movie has 3 parts and Marlon Brando is the star in the first movie. This painting actually depicts a well known scene from the movie. In this scene, the main character Vito Corleone has a serious talk with one of his business associates. This painting is perfect to decorate your office walls, it will give a note of seriousness and respect to anyone who visits.
About the Artist
Kruno Petrovic has painted the godfather painting featuring Marlon Brando which you can see above. He is a local artist from Poreč, Croatia. Kruno started his painting career as a hobby when he was a young man. His first paintings were created on the streets with other older painters that were living and painting in Poreč during the 1980-ies. His primary artwork is mostly related to landscapes and seascapes of maritime cities in Croatia. This piece is part of the Portrait Paintings section. More paintings will soon be available in the online store. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for further updates.
Technique used
The painting of Marlon Brando was made with a mixed palette of fresh oil paint. The artist used the brush technique and he managed to achieve great level of detail on the piece. The painting is stretched on a natural canvas set on a wooden back frame. The size of the canvas is 41 x 53 cm, which is around 16 x 21 inches. (We are not used to measure in inches in Croatia), The painting is also covered with a protective coat so it minimizes the risk of paint falling off.
Where to hang it?
The Godfather painting can go in several rooms in your home. It really depends what is your taste and preference in paintings and in which way is your home decorated. You can place it in your home office, living room, hallway or your study. The painting you see is without a frame. If your home is decorated in a cozy, warm and traditional way, then this painting is going to fit in just perfectly with or without the frame. The colors of the painting will blend in perfectly with your furniture and other decorations.
Ready to hang
We will send you the painting already set on the canvas and ready to hang. You don`t have to worry about that. You just need to secure a nice place on your wall for it. When the painting arrives, you just need to unwrap it and you can place it on the wall.
Should you get it framed?
The painting is displayed without the frame. We usually do not ship our paintings with the frame. We believe that you should decide if you want it with the frame or without. The paintings we have in store can stand on your walls with or without the frame. A nicely designed frame can make the painting stand out in your home, making it visible to everyone who enters your living room. It really depends on your current home decor. If it is cozy and a bit traditional then old school wooden frames are a perfect fit. Clean white or dark brown frames are a perfect match for this painting. In case you have a modern decor then this painting should go without a frame. You can make it blend in with the decor with a simple white or black wooden frame.
IMPORTANT INFO about countries outside EU (USA, Canada etc.)
There is a special certification procedure required by the customs department which can take up to 20 days. I am going to be honest with you, this procedure makes no sense but we have to do it so that the painting can pass the customs department and continue its journey to the customer. Therefore we want to inform you that due to this procedure, the shipping time is prolonged and it could take up to 6 weeks for your painting to arrive. We deeply apologize for that and when we find a faster solution we will let you know about it.

About the Artist
Filip Petrović, born and raised in a small coastal town called Poreč,
is a self taught painter and artist that has become well known for his work all across Europe. He started to explore painting as a hobby in his early twenties by doing landscape paintings of his hometown and other neighboring cities like Rovinj, Pula, Umag, Novigrad and Venice. When his friends and family saw his work, they encouraged him to display the paintings and offer them for sale to both tourists and locals.
Since he didn’t have a full degree of the Croatian Academy of Arts he was not able to organize exhibitions in galleries and museums. Therefore he had to figure out a different way to display his work.
One summer he decided to open up a small display stall on the walkway in the center of the old town. That was his first step to opening up and showing his paintings to the world. The response people had when seeing his first work of landscape and seascape paintings was very positive. People, both locals and tourists fell in love with his work. Kruno was lucky that his town Poreč was a big vacation spot for many people from European countries like England, Germany, Italy and other.
In a few years he became very popular and people bought his paintings as gifts for their family and friends, as souvenirs from their vacation in Croatia and as home decor pieces and before he even knew it, his hobby and passion for painting became his profession. He tried several painting techniques and discovered that his best work was done with acrylic and oil paint. After mastering Croatian landscape and seascape paintings he started to paint people and portraits on demand. Check out our portrait section in case you want to see his work.
Below you will find a photo carousel of his first paintings which he has recreated several times.
