About
Founded in 2011, ArtRio is recognized as one of the most relevant events on the arts calendar. The thirteenth edition of the Rio de Janeiro Art Fair takes place between the 13th and 17th of September, at Marina da Glória, bringing more content in an area 25% larger than the previous year.
Following the global scenario of discussion and attitudes focused on sustainability and awareness on the subject, the fair will also have a series of actions aimed at reducing its impact.
Since its first edition, the fair promotes a calendar of actions throughout the year, bringing knowledge and contact with art to different audiences, both encouraging visits to museums, galleries and institutions, as well as carrying out educational and cultural activities in spaces several. With this in mind, ArtRio stimulates the market, its agents, promotes debates, encourages collecting and the formation of publics.
“We arrive in 2023 looking to the future – and what we hope for our society and our planet. Through art and our actions, we want to participate efficiently and effectively in the changes and new attitudes that will be necessary. Art movements have always played an important role as a driver of change and also as an aggregator, and I understand that ArtRio has an important position in giving visibility to these issues ”, states Brenda Valansi, president of ArtRio.
The organization already has the confirmation of more than 100 guest collectors and curators, from outside Rio de Janeiro, who will be present at the fair, including visitors from countries such as the United States, Panama, Switzerland, Paraguay, Spain, Peru, Denmark, France, Turkey, Belgium and Italy. The program also includes visits to museums and institutions, galleries, ateliers and private collections.
The ArtRio 2023 Curatorial Committee, responsible for selecting the galleries participating in the VISTA and PANORAMA programs, was formed by gallery owners Alexandre Roesler (Galeria Nara Roesler), Antonia Bergamin (Galeria Galatea), Filipe Masini and Eduardo Masini (Galeria Athena), Gustavo Rebello (Gustavo Rebello Arte), and Juliana Cintra (Silvia Cintra + Box 4). The galleries that make up the SOLO program were invited by the project's curator, Ademar Britto.
On the first day of the fair, the winners of the FOCO Award will be presented. ArtRio 2023 will also have the SOLO program, with galleries bringing projects developed by a single artist, and EXPANSÃO, which is dedicated to valuing and supporting institutions that develop work using art as social inclusion.

Upon receiving your request, we’ll check our current stock for available invitations for ArtRio 2023. If we have available invitations for your chosen fair or exhibition, we will directly send one to you. Should we find ourselves without an immediate invitation, we’ll reach out to the event organizers to secure additional ones.
Is receiving an invitation guaranteed after I apply?
While we have partnerships across numerous art events and endeavor to fulfill all requests, the reality is that invitations are highly limited. Consequently, we can’t promise an invitation to every applicant. Requests are honored on a "first-come, first-served" basis, and we strive to serve our community of art lovers and collectors as best as we can.
What if the invitations are all claimed?
Should we be unable to grant you an invitation due to depleted stocks, we will guide you on how to access the event, including information on purchasing tickets for ArtRio 2023. We’ll also provide details on any preferential access or discounts that might be available to our community.
