At 77, Krawa is a photographer deeply affected by life’s challenges and personal transformation. A grandmother of six grandchildren and great-grandmother of two grandsons, her life changed dramatically after the tragic loss of her son in 2011. This event was a turning point, leading her to a profound reevaluation of her art and her way of perceiving the world.

Before this tragedy, her photographic work was characterized by harmonious curves and a soft aesthetic approach. However, the death of her son pushed her towards a more intense and introspective artistic exploration. She then began to capture chaotic geometries and fragments of urban environments, using photography to express metamorphosis and illusion. Her artistic gaze turned towards the deconstruction of reality, showing that what we perceive is often only an illusion, that nothing is immutable and that everything is in perpetual change.

Since 2022, Krawa has faced additional personal challenges due to age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and glaucoma. These visual conditions limit her ability to create photomontages that require great precision. Despite these obstacles, she continues to look back with nostalgia on her past work, which she now shares with visitors to her site.

Through his works, Krawa invites his viewers to reflect on the changing nature of perception and how illusion can transform our understanding of reality. His artistic journey demonstrates remarkable resilience and a deep commitment to self-expression, even in the face of the most daunting challenges.
