My name is GHEORGHIU CLAUDIU VICTOR and I was born in October 1967 in Bucharest.
In 1998 I took the master degree at University from Bucharest , the Faculty of History- universal old history section- with theme (Constantine the Great and Christianity) at professor LIGIA BARZU.
In 1991 I graduated Art School, painting section, with TITU DRAGUTESCU. I painted sacred pictures from 1990, in technique tempera or tempera with egg on wood. In the period 2004-2016, I had the honor to have the encouragements, the advices, the friendship of the Master PAUL GHERASIM(1925-2016), my mentor, the founder of the "Prolog" group. During the period 1992-1994 I was artistic advisor at Coleus contemporary art gallery .
I am titular member of the Association Branch of Religious Plastic Arts and Restoration - AFAPRR of UAP from Romania: Visual Artists’ Union from Romania from April 17, 2019, admitted by contest, as well as I was trainee member during the period 2016-2019, admitted by contest. I was member in Plastic Background(FP) belong Visual Artists’ Union from Romania(UAP) from 7th of December 2000, admitted by contest.
From 25th of May 2015 I was elected Media advisor of the Steering Committee of the AFAPRR of UAP from Romania: Visual Artists’ Union from Romania.
From 2014 I am member Visarta(from March 31, 2017, I was elected in the Steering Committee of Visarta, during the period 2017-2022), the Romanian Visual Arts Copyright Collecting Society.
I had 4 Personal Exhibitions with sacred art organized by UAP from Romania- Romanian Fine Arts Union in Bucharest (2001, 2003, 2004 at ArTei Gallery, 2007 at Galateea Gallery), also another two at Silva Gallery in Busteni(2007-2008) and at Sabion Gallery in Bucharest, 2019(together with Cristina Georgescu). I have also 2 Personal Exhibitions in Italy : I was Honor Guest, representing Romania, with sacred art, June 2003 at Pisa and in October 2006 ”The ICONS, sacred pictures in contemporary world” at Viadana(Mantua). I participated at many group/collective exhibitions in Romania and around the world.
I won some prizes in Italy(Taormina, Palermo) and I participated, admitted by contest, at some art fairs and international exhibitions around the world, representing Romania: most of them in Italy(Pompeii, Pisa, Turin, Milan, Reggio Emilia, Bari, Viadana, Mantua), but also in France, Germany, Greece, Japan, Peru, South Korea, Switzerland.

The Romană Art Gallery and the Visual Artists’ Union from Romania are pleased to invite you to the personal exhibition of painting and drawing “SEMPER FIDELIS”. The art works are signed by Cristina Georgescu and Claudiu Victor Gheorghiu.

Cristina Georgescu (born in 1964 at Bucharest) is a titular member of Association Branch of Religious Plastic Arts and Restoration: AFAPRR of UAP from Romania, member of the AFAPRR Board of Directors in her second term. She graduated UNARTE – Bucharest National University of Art in 2001, Department of Conservation and Restoration of Art Works (Prof. Univ. Dan Mohanu’s class). Cristina Georgescu is employed as Restorer at the Institute of Archeology “Vasile Pârvan” in Bucharest.
Claudiu Victor Gheorghiu (born in 1967 at Bucharest) is a titular member of Association Branch of Religious Plastic Arts and Restoration: AFAPRR of UAP from Romania. He is also a Media Adviser of the AFAPRR Board of Directors (he was elected in 2015). Claudiu Victor Gheorghiu is graduated (1998) history under Prof. Ligia Bârzu’s guidance, “Universal ancient history” specialization at the University of Bucharest. Noted by master Paul Gherasim (1925-2016), the founder and one of the initiators of “The Prolog Group”, who will become his mentor and guide since 2004. From November 2022, the artist is present in the portfolio of the Romană Art Gallery. In 2019, Claudiu Victor Gheorghiu participated at exhibitions of the Gallery, as follows: in March, with the group exhibition “5 Years Together” and in August, with the group exhibition “August Exhibition”. Claudiu Victor Gheorghiu is also an independent Cultural Journalist.
Cristina Georgescu and Claudiu Victor Gheorghiu participated at numerous National and International exhibitions over the years, and in September 2019 they had their first personal exhibition together, called “Interferences”, at The Sabion Galleries from Bucharest.
The two exhibiting artists participated with selected art works at The National Salon of Contemporary Art-SNAC, the most important annual event organized by the Visual Artists’ Union from Romania, as follows: Cristina Mariana Georgescu at SNAC 2020, 2021, 2022, Religious Art Section, respectively Claudiu Victor Gheorghiu at SNAC Centenary 2018 at The Decorative Arts Section, SNAC 2020, 2021, 2022, Religious Art Section.

The National Salon of Contemporary Art (SNAC) - 2023: "Beyond us" exhibition

I had the pleasure of being a selected artist, for the fifth time, more precisely in all editions so far, after SNAC 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022 editions. The National Salon of Contemporary Art is the biggest artistic event in Romania, organized by the Visual Artists’ Union from Romania.
In the "Beyond us" exhibition, within SNAC 2023, at the National Village Museum "Dimitrie Gusti" from Bucharest, the "Gheorghe Focșa" hall, my art work was exhibited together with the works of 16 other colleagues from various branches. The opening of the exhibition was on Thursday, November 2, 2023. Curator of the exhibition: Luiza Barcan, SNAC general curator: Ruxandra Dreptu.
The National Salon of Contemporary Art - 2023 took place between October 15 and November 15, 2023. The theme of the Salon was "Survivals", being proposed by the team of curators, led by art critic Ruxandra Dreptu.

,,Mysteriously Light” collective exhibition(the third edition) at the National Museum of Romanian Literature

With a powerful central theme, the art exhibition “Fusion Arts – Art is love” aims to bring together 15 young talented Romanian artists, in the impressive setting of the Noblesse Palace. The event will take place on 2nd March, from 6:30 PM.
The theme chosen for this event is a challenging one, love, highlighting the power of this feeling through our lives. Each artist has prepared a representative selection of artworks that will illustrate how the feeling of love can be conveyed through art.
The 15 young Romanian artists exhibiting in this exhibition have chosen to approach the subject in a unique and personal way. These 15 young artists are: Marius Burhan, Dorina Cioplea-Văduva, Lavinia Falcan, Claudiu Victor Gheorghiu, Bianca Paraschiv, Teodora Vasilescu, Diana Savopol, Oana Bîrsan, Ingrid G., Dana Simion, Florin Zhu, Florentina Maria Popescu, Ersin Bactisa, Dragoș Neagoe and Cristina Georgescu, chose to approach the subject in a unique and personal way.
Each artist will present their own expressive images in vibrant colors and unexpected shapes that will evoke a wide range of emotions in the audience’s soul. Each work will be a unique expression of how the artist perceived love, thus giving the public the opportunity to enjoy an incredible diversity of art.
The Noblesse Palace is the perfect venue for this exhibition as it perfectly matches these unique works of art through its grandeur. Located in the center of Bucharest, with remarkable architecture and a story that has been told since 1881, Noblesse Palace is often the host of high-class events and art exhibitions.

At the Bistriţa-Năsăud Museum Complex was open at January 31, 2023, the international visual arts exhibition APCOR - Contemporary Plastic Art from Romania, entitled "CULTURAL ROUTES".
At the opening they presented: Alexandru Gavrilaș, manager and Vasile Duda, art historian.
Curators of the event: Ana-Maria Ami Vasilescu and Alina Ilia Sabo.
The cultural project "Contemporary Visual Art from Romania", initiated by Ami Vasilescu through the HXA Art Gallery, promotes contemporary art and Romanian artists, reaching its 4th edition. In the first three editions, itinerant exhibitions were organized, hosted on the premises of some famous museums and art galleries.

The National Salon of Contemporary Art is the biggest artistic event in Romania, organized by the Visual Artists’ Union from Romania. The Visual Artists’ Union from Romania organized, with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture, the National Salon of Contemporary Art-SNAC 2022. The SNAC 2022 sections were: decorative arts, religious art, graphics, textile miniature, multimedia, painting, sculpture. Event poster for all SNAC 2022 sections and for religious art section.
The works of the religious art section from the National Salon of Contemporary Art @ SNAC 2022 were exhibited at the National Village Museum "Dimitrie Gusti", Glass Hall gallery, between November 1 and December 5, 2022.
I had the pleasure to be a selected artist, for the fourth time, after the 2018, 2020, and 2021 SNAC editions. My selected artwork was: "CLARITY", acrylic on canvas, 70x50 cm, 2022, author Claudiu Victor Gheorghiu©
The work was constructed with a limited range of warm/cold colors, being a symbolic representation of the conversion to Christianity of the Holy Emperor Constantine the Great, following the wonderful appearance of the sign of the Holy Cross in the sky, before the battle of Pons Milvius, in October 312 AD.
"Ion Andreescu" International Biennial of Contemporary Art in Buzău

On October 15, 2022, the "Ion Andreescu" International Biennial of Contemporary Art opened in Buzău, the 13th edition, "with artists selected from 42 countries, being one of the best biennials so far. The jury of had the difficult task of first nominating and then selecting the awardees from among the nominees.", a fragment of the statement of Mr. Valeriu Șușnea, the project coordinator, the President of the Buzău territorial branch of the Visual Artists’ Union from Romania.
The works selected from those that were nominated by the jury of the Biennial were awarded. The public can admire the selected, nominated and awarded works of art until November 30, 2022, at the "Ion Andreescu" Art Galleries, Nicolae Bălcescu bld.no. 37, Buzău. The 2022 edition of the "Ion Andreescu" Biennial is attended by an impressive number of contemporary artists from the whole country and abroad, with 228 paintings, 60 graphic works, 19 sculpture works, 35 art works on display decorative and 4 photography works, and in each section there were works nominated for the prizes: 23 at painting, 11 at graphics, 9 at sculpture, 8 at decorative art and 2 at photography. Because the number of works is large, the Buzău County Center for Culture and Art made available, during the Biennial, its own exhibition hall. Award-winning artists from the past editions participated as guests.

The Hărman International Art Symposium -25th anniversary edition, July 2022
The Hărman International Art Symposium is a special cultural event, dedicated to the contemporary plastic art, which took place between July 15-24, 2022, curator of the event: Mr. lawyer Nicolae Ioan Vrâncean. At this 25th anniversary edition, 45 visual artists, most of them members of the Visual Artists’ Union from Romania, were present with their art works, on the Amfitryon Art Galleries from Hărman, organized in two series, during the mentioned period. Nicolae Ioan Vrâncean's collection gathers around 1500 works, signed by representative contemporary artists from Romania. The lawyer Nicolae Ioan Vrâncean has been organizing creative symposiums in Hărman commune, Brașov county, since the beginning of the 2000s, and since then his collection has been exhibited in the big cities of Romania. Important contemporary painters, from the country and abroad, became permanent presences at the annual symposium, known as the "Hărman Phenomenon", and in 2020, the Amfitryon Art Galleries from Hărman were opened, with great financial efforts, in the first year of the pandemic. This event from this year precedes the National Gala of the Awards of the Visual Artists’ Union from Romania, which will also take place in Hărman, on September 3, 2022.

At the History Museum in Slobozia(Muzeul Județean Ialomița), No.30, Matei Basarab Avenue, was open at March 10, 2022, the traveling exhibition “Contemporary art from Romania”, the third edition, named ,,Genesis” . You can see art works made by 60 professional artists, most of them members of the Visual Artists’ Union from Romania, from the territorial branches, as well as from the branches from Bucharest. The exhibition can be visited from March 10 to April 10, 2022. Curator: Ami Vasilescu.

The 23st edition of the National Small Plastic Art Salon

The 23st edition of the National Small Plastic Art Salon. The exhibition will be held at the Braila Art Galleries and 432 artists were selected. Project coordinator: scenographer Gheorghe Mosorescu, the president of the Braila branch of the Romanian Visual Artists ’Union. The event will take place between February 26 to April 12, 2022.
