Marjorie Corbran was born in Paris. She moved to Fontainebleau with her family around thirty years ago.
From childhood, the colors that his father had on his palette and the smells of linseed oil and turpentine gave him a taste for painting. A self-taught painter, she mainly creates portraits. Women have been his main source of inspiration since his first paintings.
His artistic influences range from Van Gogh for his bright colors, to Klimt for his delicate female portraits, African art as well as Frida Kahlo for the symbolic force of her self-portraits.
The artist mainly uses oil paint, which she particularly likes, but also acrylic, watercolor, ink, colored pencils and collage.
She creates each portrait either from her imagination or by drawing inspiration from different photos that she assembles until she captures the emotion in the eyes.
For several years, she has also illustrated collections of poetry because for her, poetry and painting are arts that play with borders and happily venture into space and time.
The latest work she illustrated, Swanitude 7, is an invitation to travel through portraits of women, both pictorial and literary.
She regularly participates in personal and Parisian exhibitions.
