Anima E Mela
I have always had a passion for art, design and natural materials (paper, wood, iron, metals, fabrics). This passion emerges through acrylic paint, because it offers me a rough touch that approaches craftsmanship. The need for friction, expression of a contradiction which can reveal a beauty invisible to the fleeting glance, reinforces me in the idea that perfection is located in imperfection, knowing that perfection, such as 039;she expresses herself commonly, seems too smooth to me and leaves little room for the imagination. Acrylic paint, sometimes augmented by an insertion of material, provides me with an opposition to 'unnatural' materials. (plastic...). Life is made of ups and downs, and the oppositions that I try to create (e.g. the opposition of gold and plaster, paper or wood) represent precisely these necessary oppositions - there is no shadow without light. Through the gaze that I impose on the viewer, I try to provide them with an opening to unusual associations, things that are a priori hidden, and philosophical and psychological questions; on nature and life.

View allThese paintings are coming from my subconsciousness. I never plan my works; I just paint what's coming up - things from nature, dreams... they are really nice when you watch them, when you try to dive into them with a soft light - you can then discover lots of things and senses. When I feel that I'm finishing the painting, a name arises in my mind - that's the final sign that I can and must not continue - it's done.
