Momotombo’s Volcano in Nicaragua and its capacity for destruction was the reason for Acahualinca's catastrophe. Alongside fragments of pottery, a series of great pits reveals animal and human footprints from prehistoric nomads – preserved in volcanic ash, the footprints have been dated to around 10000 years ago. This materic artwork depicts a real footprint, just like in Acahualinca and frangments on ancient pottery, dated 6000 years ago.
