Jose Antonio Carmona Otero nace en Jerez (España) el 11 de Julio de 1950.
Desde muy joven es atraido por la imagen. Trabaja en pintura en los años 70, tras realizar estudios en la Facultad de Bellas Artes de Sevilla Santa Isabel de Hungria, para pasar luego al mundo de la fotografia, la television y el cine. Aunque nunca abandonadó la pintura.
En sus comienzos realizó varias exposiciones asi como obtuvo diversos premios pictoricos. Luego se sumergió por completo en el mundo de la fotografia, realizando tambien diversas exposiciones, desarrollando trabajos tanto industriales, artisticos como en prensa.
En el mundo de la television ha sido reportero grafico en TVE asi como uno de los pioner en el mundo de la television local en España, ya en el mundo de la gestion, llegando a ocupar el cargo de Presidente Europeo de Televisiones de Grandes Ciudades al final de la decada de los noventa.
En la actualidad mezcla su actividad en el mundo del cine, dirigiendo Jerez Film Commisssion, con su actividad fotográfica y pictórica.
