La partie de la place qui rejoint le Grand Canal, entre le palais des Doges et la bibliothèque Marciana s'appelle « Piazzetta San Marco ». Elle comporte depuis la fin du XIIe siècle deux colonnes surmontées, pour celle de gauche, du lion ailé en bronze de saint Marc l'évangéliste, et pour celle de droite, de saint Théodore en marbre.
J’ai essayé ici de traduire une ambiance de brume, faisant luire les dallages , qui comme les personnages se noient progressivement dans les brumes de la lagune.

Sa maîtrise du dessin d’architecture pratiqué quotidiennement pendant cette période est particulièrement remarquable dans de nombreuses toiles telles le Casino de Monte Carlo, la place du Général de Gaulle et la fontaine d’Aguillon à Antibes , Venise, Paris
Mais, c’est en maître de la lumière que Daniel Barré transcende les villes et en exalte les reflets, et ces vibrations qu’il nous communique au travers de ses œuvres ne cessent de nous surprendre et de nous émerveiller
