Barbotine Ciselet creates her world around characters inspired by encounters, observations of ordinary life or, again, memories of childhood readings. Her hands sketch, grope, venture, shape ... It is the expression of the faces and the attitude of the bodies that fascinate her and that make her characters so touching and endearing.
In 2000, this Toulouse native discovered working with terracotta in an associative workshop and refined her style discreetly for years. Her favorite material? Black chamotte clay, raw, as is, or the white one that she engobes and patinates.
What does she hope for today by bringing her creations to light? To create an emotion...
