Born and raised in beautiful South Africa with picturesque nature and wildlife, I started painting with my grandfather at the age of ten.

Watching him draw and paint fantastic wildlife and nature from our home country I learned an enormous degree of skill.

Together we created fabulous pieces with oil on canvas paintings of eagles and nature… Creating life on canvas that will stand the test of time.

My parents made the decision of relocating us to New Zealand in 1999 where I took in the lovely scenery of New Zealand but became too busy with life and work to take the time to paint.
Life’s up’s and down’s became too much and the urge to paint became distant and non existent.

After six years in New Zealand I felt the urge to relocate again with my youngest sister; a Dive Instructor and base ourselves in Australia.

We ended up in Cairns, far North Queensland where the heat is immense and the humidity is high. I became bored and decided to see more of the vast and amazing Australia.

Saw the dark and confusing caves of the Golden Outback with the dirt roads leading to nowhere in particular. Spent a month on a farm in Lismore, Queensland watching the sunsets, thunderstorms and kangaroos.

Then I made my way across the Nullaboor, sleeping under the stars in a tent next to The Great Australian Bight and then all the way to Western Australia. Long, never ending roads, sand and bushes.

I spent two years in Perth, still not painting but still the urge to do so. I met my soul mate and relocated again, but this time back to the other side of the country.
Sydney, New South Wales is a fabulous site, old buildings, beautiful trees, little cottages and narrow streets the amazing Opera House and the magnificent Harbour Bridge.

Then the last straw was when my grandfather passed away suddenly in February 2008 and reality struck. I am the only one in the family who had the passion to paint, the only one apart from him who ever held a paintbrush or smelled the oil paints when the tube was opened. The wonderful smell of art.

Passion to paint came over me and I begun the journey.

My husband to be has a strong passion for airplanes and flying, which gave me the incentive to head in that direction. Starting off with a A4 colour picture of a Qatar A330 in flight against the big blue sky, it became a wonderful piece of art.

I started with a 700mm x 1m blank stretched canvas and went from there. Drawing the airplane by hand, painting the blue sky and then the details of this amazing machine, mankind made to fly!

This is my best ever work and feel that I have become a very talented artist, thanks to him who have so much patience and love to spend time with a 10 year old. I believe my grandfather would be proud. Just wish I kept painting while he was still around to see it.
