He was born in İstanbul 1981. His artistic career has been inspired by his father, Hüseyin Cahit DERMAN. In 2008 He graduated from Yeditepe University , the Faculty Of Finearts , the Plastic Arts Department with the scholarship granted to high achievers. Between 2001–2008, Derman continued his study in ateliers of Özdemir Altan, Engin İnan, Mustafa Ata and Zahit Büyükişleyen.
In his compositions, not only does he use the characteristical face of İstanbul, but He also combines unknown places of İstanbul and theme of the city , classical automobiles and dusk on his canvas.
Being one of the representatives of contemporary romantic art trend, Derman composes his Works with eclectic method by combining classical figures and modern colors.
In his neo-classic paintings we can notice place and figure relation inspite of prefering figurative compositions , his sense of place stand forward.His paintings have an imaginative settings and places he has used include documentary quality.
Derman’s works have been exhibited in museums, national and international special collections.
Continuing his works in İstanbul, Derman also has work of serigraphy , litography , gravure , photography , ceramic , sculpture and interior design.
