Jane Grieco
ABOUT THE ARTIST: Jane Grieco
Brazilian painter who graduated from Fine Arts in Sao Paulo, Jane Grieco is a multidisciplinary artist. Interior designer based in France since 2005. His paintings on canvas, cotton, linen and wood reveal his sources of inspiration. They deeply transcribe the authentic colors of his native Brazil, ochres, blood, mineral and vegetal earths. Its patterns with abstract shapes are inspired as much by the valleys and rounded hills of Minas Gerais as by the unstructured architecture of the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, from Amazonian wood to the burning sand of the Nordeste.
Since 2011, Jane Grieco settled in Brittany where she returned to design and interior decoration with the help of her companion, furniture designer, Pierre Monerie.
Together, in Pléneuf-Val-André, they create original lighting and pieces of furniture which she then paints in bright colors. They thus create handmade hybrid objects "half-furniture, half-paintings" from diverted materials from the industrial world. Each piece is thus a unique numbered work.
She also continues to paint paintings, real invitations to travel, which describe a simple, colorful and authentic universe, still strongly influenced by her Brazilian native land.

BIOGRAPHIE / BIOGRAPHY
ABOUT THE ARTIST: Jane Grieco
Jane Grieco is a Brazilian artist, born in 1966. She graduated from the Fine Arts College in Sao-Paulo in interior design.
She arrived in Europe in 2005, at the age of 39. She became known through her mastery on "mandala"-drawing around a central point, made up of circles and several recurring geometric patterns which are supposed to have special virtues-and her naive styled works, pertaining to the Brazilian culture (Leman area, music, dance, folklore etc.).
Jane Grieco settled down in Brittany in 2011, where she went back to design and interior decoration along with her companion Pierre Monerie, the furniture designer.
Together, in Pléneuf-Val-André they create light fixtures and unique furniture which she later paints with bright colors. They create hand-made hybrid items "half furniture-half painting" with materials from the industrial world. Therefore, each object is a unique numbered, work of art.
Moreover, she continues painting, which is a true invitation to travel as it describes a simple, colored and a genuine universe, influenced by her homeland Brazil.
Jane Grieco exhibited her design creations during the Art & Déco de La Villette fair in Paris in 2016.
