Raph, artiste peintre né en 1963 dans l’Isère, c’est près de Louviers en Normandie qu’il s’installe pour pratiquer cet art majeur, pour le plaisir et susciter le désir. Sa peinture est très diversifiée elle s’étend du portrait au non figuratif. Elle est explosive colorée ou non. Cet artiste autodidacte est difficile à cataloguer. Il s’intéresse à tous les courants et à toutes les techniques. Dans ses portraits on retrouve une volonté à fixer un instant T, une atmosphère, une attitude, un regard. Attiré par l’art abstrait, l’artiste y trouve une plus grande liberté de création. Ce qu’il l’intéresse c’est de se retrouver face à la toile blanche, sans sujet. Il travaille la matière et cherche à donner du relief et de la profondeur à ses œuvres, seule l’harmonie et l’équilibre son important à ses yeux, le geste peut enfin se libérer.
