Self-taught painter (in the sense that my "masters" were only the regular attendance of museums, exhibitions and other exhibitions and the consultation of a very large number of books, albums and other catalogs ...), I dreamed for a long time of to devote myself to this passion but ... ..the circumstances did not allow it! Today I finally installed my workshop in Brittany, in the coastal region and I have free time!
Graphics and light are the two main axes of my work which was, of course, strongly influenced from the beginning by my environment. It is thus the "marines" which impose themselves as the main theme, supplemented by some memories of the Maghreb.
Starting from photos or sketches, I build my canvas from scattered elements that I recompose by looking for the best coherence between nuances and perspectives to suggest the pictorial atmosphere having retained my attention initially.
In 2011, I change both palette and constructive approach. My work becomes stricter, more contemporary ambitions interfere and a part of "abstraction" comes to serve as a vestibule for figurative work. My lack of patience makes me choose the acrylic which, associated with the contemporary mediums, allows at the same time material effects and a rich palette.
From 2007 I dare some solo exhibitions (Paris, province, Germany and Brussels ..) but I especially appreciate the friendly atmosphere of the regional shows where I have the pleasure of finding my peers and sometimes being awarded.
An AKOUN rating was awarded in 2013.
