Bernard Zwegers
I first studied visual arts at the Beaux Arts in Le Havre, before entering the Beaux Arts in Paris in 1963 to study architecture.
Out of my passion for history, I created an archaeological rescue team and worked on various Parisian construction sites, in particular at the Parvis de Notre Dame.
In 1971 I obtained my architect's diploma and worked in this profession until 1995, at the same time continuing research with the CNRS on greenhouse thermal energy. This collaboration will allow me to design a new bioclimatic habitat.
It was from 1992 that I returned to my first vocation as a visual artist and took up pencils which then became my preferred mode of expression and of which I explored all the technical possibilities.
I find my sources of inspiration in the research of materials, the field of life, both plant and animal, all in the service of creating an imaginary world.
